The Roebling Trio was formed by three friends at Juilliard to explore masterpieces of the piano trio repertoire. The trio is named after John Augustus Roebling (1806 – 1869), the legendary civil engineer who designed and built the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.

Violinist Valerie Kim is currently pursuing her doctoral degree with Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman at Juilliard where she also earned her B.M. and M.M. degrees as a recipient of a Kovner Fellowship. Last summer, Valerie was invited back to Yellow Barn and performed in the 2023 Kyoto International Music Students Festival. Previously, at the Perlman Music Program she premiered Michelle Ross’ String Quartet written in memory of Roger Tapping. Valerie recently collaborated with Nathalie Joachim and Chanel DaSilva for a live performance series of Ki moun ou ye and was also concertmaster of the first-ever Juilliard Orchestra and Juilliard Jazz Orchestra collaboration in 2022.

Philadelphia-born cellist Eliana Razzino Yang has performed solo recitals in London, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Frankfurt, New York, Helsinki, Boston, and Philadelphia and concertos with orchestras in Italy, the USA, and England. She has also performed as part of Harrisburg’s Market Square rising star series and the Taos Chamber Music Group, and received top prizes in the Adelphi Orchestra, All City Orchestra, YCVT, Caprio, Charleston, and Vivace competitions. Eliana has collaborated with members of the Emerson, Tokyo, Borromeo, Vermeer, Audubon, Aizuri, and Momenta string quartets. Past programs include Prussia Cove, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Taos School of Music, Kneisel Hall, Perlman Music Program, Sarasota Music Festival, Heifetz Institute, and Carnegie Hall’s New York String Orchestra Seminar. Eliana received her bachelor’s degree from Juilliard and is continuing her master’s degree at Juilliard with Zvi Plesser and Clara Kim.

Praised as “especially impressive” and “a thoughtful, sensitive performer” who “balanced lyrical warmth and crisp clarity” (Tommasini – The New York Times), pianist Zhu Wang was awarded First Prize in the Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions in addition to First Prize at New Orleans International Piano Competition and Cleveland International Piano Competition. Zhu has appeared in recital at Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater, and Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, which made The New York Times’ “Best of Classical Music 2021.” He received his B.M. from Juilliard, Artist Diploma from the Curtis Institute, and is currently pursuing his Master’s from Juilliard under the tutelage of Emanuel Ax and Robert McDonald.
