Praised for playing that is “rich and romantic, with crisp incisive technique” (The Strad), Canadian-Korean cellist Soo Bae has performed in major venues across the world from HongKong, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Austria, Germany, Italy, South America, Canada and the US, including a sold-out debut recital at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. A winner of the Concert Artist Guild International Competition, she received her BM from the Curtis Institute of Music; MM and AD from the Juilliard School, where she taught as an assistant faculty under Joel Krosnick. A recording artist, and a highly sought-after teacher, she teaches at the Curtis Summerfest and has recently served as a judge for the Juilliard and Manhattan School’s concerto competition, and the Canada Council Instrument Bank Competition. As an avid chamber musician, she has toured with 'Musicians from Marlboro' and is a founder/director of AME chamber program in NJ where resides with her husband and three children. Ms. Bae plays on the historic 1710 Guarneri cello.
