The Big Ride - Prologue/Crumb's "Black Angels"

David YangTomorrow starts the Big Ride™

Never, in 24 years, have we sold out St. Paul’s. Thank you to everyone for bringing us to this point – to our all-volunteer board who have worked tirelessly to get us here, to the small army of people in the community who pitch in to help make each concert possible in all sorts of ways, and to St. Paul’s, our host since the beginning. We wouldn’t be here without you.
I’m delighted for the festival but feel for those who were unable to get tickets beforehand. For those who can’t make it, here is one of my favorite Vivaldi concertos played by the standout Italian baroque orchestra “Il Giardino Armonico.”

I’ll see some of you on Sunday. To all of you: Happy Holidays!

David YangNot unlike preparing for a concert, this 571 mile ride has provided a kind of focused structure over the past six months, imposing its own kind of discipline.

David YangHow does one define chamber music, anyway? Does it have to be played in a small room, or maybe any small group is automatically "chamber music?"
